100 MW Combined Cycle Power
Plant, Vatwa Resumes Generation: AEC &
GSPC have entered into an agreement for the
supply of 5 lac SCM per day of gas and AEC
will now be able to generate power at full
capacity at its 100MW Combined Cycle Power
Plant at Vatwa. The Chief Minister, Shri Narendrabhai
Modi inaugurated the recommencement of the
100 MW Gas Plant of AEC on gas from GSPC,
in a grand function attended by around 1400
invitees consisting of industrialists, eminent
citizens, senior government officers. |

In accordance with the provision of Gujarat
Electricity Industry (Reorganization and Regulation)
Act AEC-GEB Police Station was opened at the
Sabarmati to curb power theft. This initiative
has been taken as part of the meter checking
drives and to register complaints against
power theft as a means to reduce T&D losses,
where the police personnel will work jointly
with AEC and GEB. The jurisdiction covers
Ahmedabad-city and rural, Gandhinagar city,
Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Banaskantha and Patan
districts.

Slum Electrification Project (SEP): During
the year 2003-04, more than 30000 slums have
been electrified as a part of the SEP and
it is our target to complete the entire process
over a period of three years. Some of the
