Staring operations in 1996, Torrent quickly began
establishing itself, especially in cardiology
and neuropsychiatry. The leading brands in these
therapeutic areas include Amlocor, Toraass, Valparin,
Respidon and Crabatol. The Company created history
by launching a new molecule, Nicorandil (Nikoran),
and emulated the feat of western originators who
are the ones used to doing such things. By 2006-07,
Torrent expects to be among the top three Indian
pharma companies operating from Vietnam.
