The Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) facility has been approved by the US FDA and EU authorities.

It set up a new formulations manufacturing plant at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh (India) to supply exclusively to the domestic market demand. The plant commenced operations in November 2005.

Torrent Pharma recently signed an agreement with Novo Nordisk to establish a new and dedicated formulation and packaging facility for Insulin, exclusively for Novo Nordisk.

Torrent Pharma has evolved into a research driven organization. It’s R & D Centre continues to offer dedicated services in the areas of Discovery Research, Generic Drug Development and New Drug Delivery Systems/Value added generics. With an investment of USD 40 million so far, it has over 560 strong scientific capital. So far, it has filed 219 patents for NCE in various global markets, of which 123 have been granted.

In the International operations arena, Torrent Pharma exports to more than 50 countries around the world with over 1000 product registrations. In June 2005, it acquired the Pfizer Group Company, Heumann Pharma GmbH & Co Generica KG, which ranks 11th in German generic market.
